Amos Guetta was a referral from a very close friend who had seen Amos’ work firsthand. We were planning renovating our NYC 1 bedroom apartment kitchen and bathroom. Amos and his team were a Godsend. From the initial consultation, he listened for what we wished to be done and then was clear about what could and possibly could not be done. When we were concerned about budget issues or newly discovered structural limitations, Amos always had a workaround to suggest that would keep us on or within our budget, all the while instilling a sense of calm. The Office Manager, Lois, was extremely communicative and helpful. She seamlessly handled all the paperwork for building and insurance requirements as well as the financial aspect of the renovation. Not easy to do. During the shopping phase of the renovation, Amos had recommendations for tile, flooring, fixture and appliance companies all of whom were exceptional in the process. We were away during the entire two-month renovation and Amos communications via text and photos nearly every morning or afternoon about the schedule, the expectations and the accomplishments, constantly asking for confirmation along each stage. He tediously sealed off the parts of the apartment that were not being renovated. Before he installed any tiles on the wall or floors, he taped out various patterns, consulting with us on each. His work is creative and masterful; he had an incredibly tasteful vision about the possibilities for the space. I witnessed the great respect he has for his employees who are all meticulous and serious about their work. This was our second NYC renovation and by far beyond any expectations for what we could have hoped. We cannot recommend Amos and his team enough.

Súper profesional as a home owner he took his time in preparing the area, protected our hardwood floors he even protected the corners of our walls! The Kitchen surpassed my expectations. We have an 865 sq ft.1 BR condo on the upper west side of Manhattan. No significant improvements had been made since its construction, and it needed complete kitchen and bathroom renovations. I interviewed 3 in-person contractors to go over the project, discuss ideas, cost and time to completion. I settled on Brener Construction, and it was the right choice. Amos Guetta, the owner, was quick to respond through his office manager Lois, and I only had to wait a few days for us to meet. He was on time, professional, courteous and pleasant. He listened to my ideas, offered some suggestions of his own and was willing to consider changes that would pose challenges. In a few days I received the proposal by email; the project was broken up into phases with inclusions and exclusions clearly stated. As often happens with any renovation project, it grew. In addition to a totally new kitchen and bathroom, new closets were built, crown molding and recessed lighting were placed throughout the condo, additional wall sockets were wired, ceiling fans and a split A/C system were installed, and floors were sanded. Some partition walls and a drop ceiling were removed, opening the rooms and allowing them to breath. Amos started the project and demolition on time and would send daily photos through a group WhatsApp account created along with his office manager, Lois. It gave me the ability to follow progress and communicate back and forth. It was also easy to speak with Amos and Lois over the phone when necessary. Having Lois on the thread was an advantage since she could follow up on orders, delivery dates and troubleshoot any problems along the way. She provided the back-office support essential to any business. Living in Philadelphia and at times being out of the country, posed no problems with our communication. I made it a priority to always try to answer immediately whenever Amos or Lois would send a message or had a question. I figured a delay on my part could result in double delay on their part if they had to wait for me to respond. I had a chance to meet the electrician Orlando, and many of his workers; all professional who shared Amos' desire for attention to detail and clearly took pride in their work. Many of his workers have been with Brener for years which bodes well for the company. Amos followed all electrical and plumbing city codes, offered reasonable troubleshoot suggestions whenever problems or surprises arose (sure to happen) and always in a calm and pleasant manner. He abided by all condo rules and regulations and there was never any friction between him and management. After weeks of working closely with Amos, I consider him a friend and would have no reservations in recommending Brener Construction for any small or large project. In short, if you are looking for a contractor, look no further and have the confidence that choosing Brener Construction and Amos Guetta is the right choice. He may not be the cheapest, but the work will be done right and done right the first time. In Spanish there is a saying, “lo barato sale caro” - that which is cheap, will turn out to be expensive!
